Operational Safety Specialist

This is a temporary position based in Adelaide, providing hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

As an operational safety specialist, you will join a growing team focused on operational and environmental safety, including audits, hazard identification, risk management, and investigations.

Key responsibilities include conducting operational and environmental safety audits across multiple sites, identifying, assessing, and managing hazards and risks, and supporting investigations alongside existing staff.

The ideal candidate will have a background in rail operations or transport and experience in operational safety environments. A collaborative approach and strong knowledge of safety protocols are essential.

  • Background in rail operations or transport, or operational-facing roles in maritime/shipyard environments
  • Strong understanding of operational and environmental safety (WHS experience not required)
  • Safety access worker qualifications and rail safety card (or willingness to complete training)
  • Ability to conduct trackside audits and investigations
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Possess a valid driver's license for site travel
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to contribute to a positive team culture
