This role provides the opportunity to work with a valued host employer in Adelaide, supporting the maintenance of the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Rail Network (AMPRN) to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing civil labouring tasks such as excavation, concrete works, fencing, paving, and vegetation management.
  • Maintaining station and corridor presentation through graffiti removal, litter collection, and minor facility repairs.
  • Participating in planned network shutdowns, working before the first and after the last train.
  • Supporting rail maintenance activities through safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Assisting with track, platform, and facility upgrades.
  • Complying with all rail safety and environmental standards, acting as Track Protection Officer where required.
  • Contributing to site setup, planning, and team coordination for daily tasks.

To be successful, candidates should have:

  • Experience in maintenance, construction, or civil infrastructure environments.
  • Hands-on skills in labouring roles, including the use of tools, plant, and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of safety, quality, and environmental compliance in construction or maintenance settings.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a high standard.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including night shift and weekends.
  • Experience in a rail/transport environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to pass a Rail Safety Worker Category 1 medical assessment.
