We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused individual to join our Gladstone yard as a Machine Operator. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with very quick professional growth opportunities.


Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will be responsible for safely operating machinery to help with the efficient processing of scrap metal. Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Co-ordinating work in a team environment or working individually under general supervision.
  • Being responsible for assuring the quality of your own work.
  • Excavator operations.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Separating materials.
  • Liaising with customers.

To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • Attention to detail – This role will be working with metals, requiring the position to be able to identify and separate material.
  • A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training to diversify your skills.
  • Excellent attendance, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment but also unsupervised.
  • Forklift license and Excavator license (minimum 12T).
