Job Title

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our team in delivering network planning analysis and technical advisory services for the Victorian Declared Shared Network. The role is responsible for ensuring the power system remains secure and prepared for the transition to net zero emissions.

The ideal candidate will have significant industry experience in power system planning, strong knowledge of power system modelling, analysis, and primary plant design, as well as proven track record leading geographically dispersed teams through transformation project planning, reporting, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team delivering network planning analysis and technical advisory services.
  • Oversee network and system performance monitoring ensuring operational issues inform Network Planning to strengthen power system resilience.
  • Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders on the operational shift from thermal generation to high renewable penetration.
  • Build and empower a high-performing team managing budget, compliance, risk, and workforce planning.
  • Establish strong stakeholder relationships and deliver agreed action plans that enhance engagement and support AEMO's strategic goals.
Requirements:
  • Appropriate tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g. engineering.
  • Significant industry experience in power system planning with strong knowledge of power system modelling, analysis, and primary plant design.
  • Proven track record leading geographically dispersed teams through transformation project planning, reporting, and delivery advanced consulting and communication skills.
  • Understanding of the political, legal, and regulatory environment of the energy sector including AEMO's Victorian jurisdictional roles and obligations.
