Overview

The Senior Manager, Controls Oversight role is a critical position within the Value Chain and Controls Management team at Westpac Group. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Value Chains & Controls Risk in Change, this individual will support the Consumer Division by contributing to the identification, management, mitigation, and monitoring of risks through key risk management programs, focusing on controls, obligations, and value chains.

About the Role

As a Senior Manager, Controls Oversight, you will be responsible for managing, assessing, and uplifting controls within the Consumer Division COO and overseeing controls in the Lines of Business (LOBs) and Business Units (BUs) to ensure risks and obligations are adequately managed.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the Division in managing, reporting, and uplifting controls to ensure they are fit for purpose to address obligations and risks.
  2. Manage the execution of the Controls Strategy to review, optimize, and uplift control performance.
  3. Work with the BCM Chapter to achieve outcomes across the Divisions and broader organization.
  4. Provide subject matter expertise to the business on controls, risk, and compliance policies, standards, and obligations to ensure business operations, risk management practices, and controls are aligned to the wider Group.
  5. Provide reporting and insights to relevant forums, including divisional reporting, briefing notes, forums, and other risk reports required for provision to the Consumer LOBs and BUs.
  6. Perform control assessments on Consumer COO divisional controls.
  7. Contribute to the development of integrated and effective solutions for resolving risk and control issues and incidents to drive a strong risk and controls culture that helps achieve business objectives.
  8. Provide insights on themes emerging from QA reviews for business acceptance and actioning.
  9. Contribute to other key risk programs and reviews, as required.
