Senior Manager, Risk Governance and Oversight

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Risk Governance and Monitoring team within Westpac Institutional Banking. As a key member of our Corporate and Institutional Bank (CIB) Business Controls team, you will play a critical role in driving the design and execution of risk management activities across Risk Committees, operationalising risk policy changes, and developing and tracking risk action plans for CIB's Risk Profile.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the ongoing monitoring of plans across the CIB Risk profile rectification, including Risk Appetite Metrics, Key Risk Indicators, and/or Controls.
- Ensure the WIB Lending Value Chain risk and controls are being governed effectively and consistently improved by senior management teams.
- Prepare and deliver draft papers for relevant Lines of Business (LOB), Divisions, the Group, and Board risk committees for matters relevant to CIB Risk profile.
- Perform operational risk requirements on Risk System (JUNO) ensuring the quality of critical data elements is high, and develop action plans with relevant owners to lift record-keeping and data quality requirements.
- Support the review, planning, and implementation of Group policy framework changes to ensure compliance.
- Drive continuous Governance improvement to ensure effective risk oversight across the CIB LOB.
- Drive simplification of expected reporting standards by analysing and identifying initiatives to standardise and reuse.
- Lead risk advisory for Business resilience and continuity and prepare self-assessments in RMF, Risk Culture Self-assessment, and non-lending losses review.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify and facilitate more efficient and effective risk, governance, and reporting practices in the business.
- Coach and support the business to build greater risk awareness and capability through reporting and risk performance, including self-service tools.
- Lead team members to deliver and report effective and accurate risk information to support the business in tracking performance and developing action plans to improve the risk and control environment.
- Manage the WIB Lending Value Chain risk governance committee and perform the Secretariat function at committee meetings, including attendance of all relevant meetings, and planning forward risk papers for committee Risk Owners.
- Manage the forward calendar of committee activities and other relevant forums.
- Ensure that committee Terms of Reference and frameworks are regularly reviewed, remain fit for purpose, and are enhanced as needed.
