Job Overview

The role of Garment Technician involves collaborating with the Technical Designer in managing and overseeing all aspects of technical design.

The Garment Technician will be responsible for creating tech packs, developing fit comment documents, and participating in fit sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Support the Technical Designer in creating tech packs and develop fit comment documents for every style">
  • Measure garments accurately to identify fit issues and execute fit comments efficiently">
  • Participate in fit sessions, provide recommendations, note call-outs, and log critiques to address issues">
  • Pre-check and pre-approve SMS samples for production approval after thorough evaluation of fit, measurement, pattern shaping, hanger appeal, and functionality">
  • Work with the Senior Garment Tech to provide accurate grading information in line with the brand's standards">
  • Update technical specifications until approved production sample">
  • Help solve construction problems throughout the sample stage">
  • Communicate effectively with the Design Lead, Product Development Manager, Production team, and Senior Garment Tech">

Requirements:

  • 3+ years minimum womenswear industry experience">
  • Strong knowledge of technical design, including tech packs, grading, and fit comment">
  • Awareness of trends and ability to incorporate into fit sessions">
  • Experience in tech packing, garment spec, pattern making, and grading is essential">
  • Tertiary qualifications in pattern making and garment construction">
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills">
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign">
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines">
