We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced State Commercial Operations Manager to join our team at ACFS, the largest privately owned transport and logistics company. As a key member of our commercial operations team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through new business and share of wallet via our core services: Cartage / Transport / 3PL Warehousing / eCommerce.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on growth, with experience in business development, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will have demonstrated and proven experience in business development of new and existing customers, driving operational excellence, building strong internal and external relationships, and delivering results that allow continued growth within our business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead new customer acquisitions and develop strong partnerships with existing clients to promote share of wallet.
  2. Focus on revenue growth while maintaining customer relationships.
  3. Consistently review scope of works against invoices to ensure jobs are billed accurately and as quoted.
  4. Develop and implement ongoing operational processes and practices.
  5. Support operations with continuous improvement in the Transport, Depot, and Warehousing divisions.
  6. Monitor daily operations to ensure that managers and their team comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
  7. Support divisional managers to develop and implement best practice and controls, including introducing Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma initiatives.
  8. Implement initiatives to ensure cost containment, maximizing profit to achieve budgets.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience as a Transport Manager or related area such as Logistics, Intermodal, etc.
  2. Ability to drive and achieve financial targets in sales growth and operational savings.
  3. Strong communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills.
  4. Able to lead and develop a team through influence.
  5. Planning and organisational skills.
  6. Demonstrated Leadership qualities with a "hands-on" approach.
  7. Sound administration and organisational skills.
  8. Ability to understand and meet KPI requirements.
