About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Communications Specialist to join our team at the University of New South Wales. As a key member of our Corporate Communications Unit, you will play a vital role in developing and disseminating communications to our audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with various stakeholders, including media, students, staff, and the broader community.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and distribute high-quality external communications content that showcases the university's achievements and initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice on communications best practices, leveraging data and analytics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage requests from journalists for stories and information, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and significant experience in corporate communications or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian media landscape, with established contacts within media, education, or a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering external communications and branding programs within large and complex organizations.

  • An attractive salary of AU$110,073 - AU$119,132 per annum, plus 17% Superannuation contributions and additional leave loading payments.
