- Ensure sufficient food stock quantities and quality within food preparation areas, aligning with hotel occupancy forecasts.
- Partner with the head chef to create work schedules and annual leave plans that meet business expectations and legislative requirements.
- Proactively source high-quality products at optimal prices using company ordering systems.
- Work closely with the head chef to manage departmental expenses.
Requirements:
- Holding full working rights in Australia without restrictions is mandatory, as sponsorship is not available for this role.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a similar leadership position is required.
- Mandatory certifications include Certificate III in Commercial Cookery; Certificate IV is desirable.
- A passion for delivering luxury experiences is essential, with a willingness to go above and beyond to personalize guest stays and share local knowledge.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, is necessary.
- Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene are expected.
- An organized approach, ability to handle complex information, and simultaneous requests are essential.
- Strong communication and writing skills are necessary.
- Physical fitness, as you will be on your feet most of the day, is crucial.
- Ocassionally, you may need to lift, push, or pull objects, such as tables, up to 23 kg – we have equipment to support you and prioritize your safety.
