Change and Release Manager

Job Summary:

The Change and Release Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless IT service delivery. They oversee the change management process, guaranteeing that all alterations to IT services and infrastructure are executed in a controlled and approved manner.

This critical position requires a meticulous individual with exceptional organizational skills, adept at managing complex change requirements and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify potential change needs, including responding to Requests for Change
  2. Validate change requirements
  3. Assess change requirements
  4. Categorize changes
  5. Seek technical, emergency, and deployment approvals, presenting changes to CABs and receiving, storing, and validating change approvals
  6. Conduct reviews of changes, identifying and conducting formal reviews, and conducting PCRs of each unauthorized and unsuccessful change
  7. Request re-scheduling and re-scoping of change records
  8. Close change records
  9. Attend process forums, including DEFCAB, PCRF, Community of Practice, and One-on-Ones
  10. Support the process community by cascading information to other process participants and stakeholders within their Service Provider
  11. Identify process continual improvement opportunities
  12. Receive and respond to hierarchical escalations where required
  13. Act as a Change Approver, approving or denying changes
