
Human Resources Specialist: Workplace Wellbeing

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and coordinate initiatives that promote staff wellbeing. The role will operate under the direction of the Director, People and Wellbeing, to design and deploy programs enhancing psychological safety in the workplace.
This includes providing high-quality advice on HR policy, employment frameworks, and workforce matters, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, coordinating end-to-end recruitment activities, and supporting managers in workforce planning, performance management, learning and development, and employee relations.
- Provide expert advice on HR policy, employment frameworks, and workforce matters to support the directorate's strategic objectives.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, mitigate risks associated with legislative requirements, and implement proactive strategies to prevent workplace incidents.
- Coordinate recruitment activities, from job posting to onboarding, to attract and retain top talent while ensuring compliance with Public Service Act 1999 and relevant legislation.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive employee relations services, including performance management, learning and development, and conflict resolution.
- Masters degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience in a senior HR role.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in HR, preferably in a Commonwealth entity.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing wellbeing programs, psychosocial risk management strategies, and promoting positive work culture.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decision-making.
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
