Crisis Family Violence Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Violence Response Specialist to join our team.
About the Role- Provide a response to victim survivors at risk, including ongoing assessment of family violence risk and safety planning.
- Engage with clients using assertive communication techniques and provide advocacy and referrals within the service system.
The role will involve responding to incoming calls and referrals from victim survivors, providing secondary consultations to professionals, and short-term case management to victim survivors in crisis accommodation.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage risk for victims of family violence, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Develop and implement safety plans with victims and their families.
- Provide expert advice on family violence risk-assessment and safety planning to colleagues and external agencies.
You will work collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes for victims and their children. We welcome applications from experienced practitioners who are passionate about working with victims of family violence.
Requirements- A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles.
- A comprehensive understanding of the Integrated Family Violence Service System.
- Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Common Risk Assessment Framework, MARAM, and the ability to share this knowledge and model systems advocacy.
It is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Previous experience working with victims of family violence would be highly regarded.
