Southern Adelaide Health Service is seeking an experienced Senior Cook to join our Catering Services team at Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network.

About the Role

This permanent part-time position (working 32 hours per week) is available immediately, with a salary of $62,351.20 - $64,381.60 per year, plus superannuation and leave loading.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the production and distribution of food, ensuring that quality control standards are maintained, and working in liaison with the Dietitian to meet specific nutritional requirements for patients.

You will also oversee staff and train apprentices as required, providing assistance to less experienced members of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the ordering of non-imprest food supplies and plating of meals
  • Ensure quality control of food production and work in liaison with the Dietitian to meet specific nutritional requirements
  • Train and supervise staff, including apprentices
  • Allocate, inspect and determine work priorities to ensure the quality and timeliness of work undertaken by employees
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Trade qualifications or trade equivalent skills as a Cook
  • Previous experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals and in preparing and cooking for dietary requirements
  • A flexible approach to work and rostering systems
  • The ability to work well within a team environment and relate to all levels of staff
