Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cook to join our Catering Services team at Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the production and distribution of food to ensure quality standards are met
  • Manage the ordering of non-imprest food supplies, plating of meals, and menu selections
  • Ensure quality control of food production is maintained, including special diet cooking and modified texture foods
  • Collaborate with the Dietitian to meet specific nutritional requirements for patients
  • Supervise staff and train apprentices as required, providing assistance to less experienced members of the team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold trade qualifications or trade equivalent skills as a Cook and have previous experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals. You should also be able to work well within a team environment, have a flexible approach to work and rostering systems, and be able to relate to all levels of staff.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the quality and timeliness of work undertaken by employees are maintained, making you an important part of the catering team.

Work Environment

This is a permanent Part-time position available (working 32 hours per week), over a 7 day roster. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and multitasking skills are essential.
