Aviation Security Officer Job Summary

The role of Aviation Security Officer involves ensuring the safety and security of airport operations. This includes performing patrols of terminal, perimeter, and airside/landside locations.

  • Identify potential security threats and take appropriate action to mitigate them.
  • Control and monitor access points in accordance with airport security protocols and stringent regulatory requirements.
  • Operate surveillance, alarm, and communications systems from the control room.
  • Conduct ID and vehicle checks at gates and other critical points.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol and inspect areas within the airport to identify potential security risks.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras to detect suspicious activity and respond accordingly.
  • Verify the identities of individuals entering or leaving secure areas.
  • Respond to security incidents and escalate as required under SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in aviation security or airport operations.
  • Strong understanding of airport security protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • High level of professionalism, observation skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage customer interactions calmly and professionally.
Benefits:
  • Certificate II in Security Operations.
  • NSW Security Licence (1A minimum).
  • ASIC (preferred) or eligibility to obtain.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
