Operational Readiness Specialist

Sydney Airport is undergoing a significant transformation, with various projects aimed at enhancing the passenger experience and operational efficiency.

As an Operational Readiness Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless airport operations during this dynamic period. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing comprehensive operational plans that support continuity, safety, and exceptional service delivery throughout project execution.

You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating efforts and managing communication to maintain uninterrupted airport operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver detailed operational plans to ensure stable airport operations during all phases of project delivery, including construction staging and readiness for new technology integration.
  • Review project designs to assess alignment with operational procedures and business continuity plans, providing expert advice to maintain service standards throughout delivery.
  • Act as the primary operational liaison during construction, working closely with project managers and on-site teams to resolve issues and prevent disruptions to airport operations.
  • Drive collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders to support consistent decision-making, effective issue resolution, and alignment with operational, terminal, and passenger experience goals.
  • Identify and implement lessons learned from previous projects to continuously improve operational planning and project delivery outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in airport operations, with a strong track record of supporting or delivering projects within live operational environments.
  • Proven ability to manage change in complex, fast-paced settings, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while maintaining high service standards.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating across multiple teams and influencing at all levels.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative working style with a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
