Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to lead the safe, secure and efficient operation of Distribution Centres in ANZ.

The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, developing and motivating staff to continually improve processes and performance that support the achievement of strategic objectives in respect of service, quality and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimise Service and Quality: Adopt a continuous improvement approach to optimise service and quality while minimising cost.
  • Lead High Performing Team: Provide clear leadership developing a high performing and highly engaged team.
  • Facility Development: Support the development of the existing facility to maximise capacity.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legislative and statutory requirements.
  • Health and Safety Culture: Delivery of a strong health and safety culture within DC.
  • Drive Performance: Drive high performance of DC.
  • Employee Engagement: Provide clear leadership that engages DC employees.
  • Efficient Processes: Delivery of efficient and robust processes and procedures within DC.
  • Leadership Direction: Provide leadership and direction in Leadership Teams and Local Market Leadership Team.
  • Carrier Management: Manage local carriers and negotiations as agreed with Global Freight Manager.
  • Facilities Management: Manage Facilities while involving Global Facilities Function.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across DC network to provide lowest cost and highest practical customer service levels.
  • Safe Working Environment: Maintain at all times a safe working environment, minimising risks and delivering high standards of housekeeping, developing a strong Health and Safety culture.
About You
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Strong Health and Safety knowledge, experience and awareness.
  • Senior Management Experience: Senior management level experience in managing time critical, high volume Distribution Centres.
  • Change Management Skills: Strong change management skills, both processes and employee leadership.
  • Educational Background: Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to establish both strategic and tactical plans, providing leadership to respond to business, market, legislative or environmental developments.
