Lark Business Advisory, a renowned accounting firm in Hawthorn East, Vic, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS for various industries. Working closely with the Taxation & Self-managed Super Fund Manager & CEO/Director, you will contribute daily to maintaining seamless operations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of clients, including individuals and businesses. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Achieving a productivity target of 80% average over the financial year
  • Preparing financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS for various industries from start to finish
  • Reviewing BAS, financial statements, and income returns prepared by offshore accountants, addressing any queries
  • Communicating with clients regarding annual and ongoing work, resolving any issues that arise
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, including invoicing and maintaining relationships
  • Collaborating with the Taxation & SMSF Manager to ensure accuracy in your work and respond to review points
  • Liaising with team members and offshore accountants daily to ensure seamless operations
  • Handling matters with the ATO and other statutory authorities as needed
  • Maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of client trust
  • Documenting client files electronically into Suitefiles
  • Familiarising yourself with and adhering to company policy directives
  • Undertaking additional duties as required

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Public Practice Experience is essential
  • Proficiency in the preparation of Financial Statements & Income Tax Returns for Companies, Unit Trusts, Family Trusts, Partnerships & Individuals
  • A minimum of 5-years' experience in Public Practice
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Xero, Suitefiles, Practice Ignition, and Karbon
  • Strong judgement, decision-making capabilities, and initiative
  • Calm and approachable demeanour, with reliability and honesty
  • Active listening skills to effectively understand client needs
  • High standard of personal presentation
  • Commitment to client and company confidentiality
