About the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the meat department, including equipment setup, merchandise rotation, and product processing. They will also be required to follow all safety procedures, label merchandise, and maintain a clean and sanitized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and assemble equipment during department setup.
  • Work display case and rotate merchandise to high standards.
  • Process large quantities of product using automatic wrapping machine.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Labels merchandise, and puts wrapped and labelled merchandise in display case.
  • Operates meat grinder. Follows proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished merchandise.
  • Cleans and sanitizes area throughout the day. Performs duties to comply with health code.
  • Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required.
  • Complies with the 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification and all Safety Policies required by the warehouse and the department.
  • Assists in other departments for the warehouse as necessary.
  • Provides and ensures prompt and courteous service to members, employees and vendors.

Requirements:
  • Communication - Articulates information in a way that can be easily understood by employees and members. Actively listens to fellow employees, members and managers.
  • Member Service - Exhibits a professional demeanour toward others. Ability to identify problems, find solutions and make sound decisions that reflect Costco's Code of Ethics.
  • Self-Motivated - Well-organised and able to prioritise, multi-task and adhere to deadlines while working efficiently and independently.
  • Team Player - Willingness to perform tasks assigned by supervisors and to assist others as needed.
  • Flexibility - Adjusts positively to change in direction or assignment. Willingness and ability to comply with new programs, methods, practices and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Experience - Food handling experience preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills - Customer service or comparable.
