We're seeking an exceptional CDP to join our culinary team at QT Newcastle, a boutique hotel located on the harbour. This is an opportunity to be part of a vibrant and dynamic kitchen environment, working alongside experienced hospitality professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing and stock control: assist in managing inventory, conducting regular stock takes, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Costing and menu planning: work closely with the Executive Chef to develop cost-effective menus, ensuring consistency and quality throughout the restaurant.
  • Seasonal menu changes: collaborate with the culinary team to create new menu options, incorporating seasonal ingredients and trends.
  • Problem-solving and food preparation: demonstrate hands-on approach to resolving issues, while maintaining high standards of food presentation and quality.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a busy commercial kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining focus and composure in fast-paced situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Sound knowledge of current food trends, cooking techniques, and relevant industry standards.
