AWS Data Center Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Center Operations Specialist to join our team at Amazon. This is a fixed-term position with the possibility of becoming a full-time role.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure that all work performed aligns with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.

You will maintain performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.

This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, physical security protocol awareness, and computer literacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain performance benchmarks and conduct analyses.
  • Prepare reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
  • L Learn and contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
  • Assist with the installation of racks and provision of power/cooling within constraints.
  • Be involved in routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems.
  • Assist and learn about design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  • Assist with management of Facility assets and provision of infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
  • May participate in Construction and Operational Meetings as required.
  • Assist with Work Order compliance and review of contractual SLAs.
  • Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Assist in resolution of any infrastructure engineering or services issue.

Requirements:

  • Interest in maintenance of a Data Center or Critical space facility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Facilities Management mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Security protocol awareness.
  • Computer literate, confident with Office Suite.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
