Job Summary:

The Hotel Operations Trainer will be responsible for the ongoing development and training of Post Graduate Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School students in the Rooms Division area. This includes managing the day-to-day operational function of the front office and housekeeping areas, as well as training and monitoring students during practical sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and development programs for students in Front Office and Housekeeping operations, in collaboration with the Front Office Manager and Executive Housekeeper.
  • Ensure all students' equipment and supplies are ready for commencement of shifts.
  • Organize rosters for students to cover the campus front desk.
  • Assist with the implementation of standard operating policies and procedures, and adhere to those in place.
  • Work closely with the academic team to ensure a high level of industry knowledge and skills.
  • Undertake professional development activities to maintain a high level of continuing industry knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a manager or supervisor in Front Office in a 4-5-star hotel/resort environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of housekeeping services is ideal, but can be trained.
  • A passion for developing and training others.
  • Completion of a Certificate IV in Hospitality or equivalent, and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) is desirable, but not essential.
