About the Role

The Commission works to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services by maintaining the integrity of the system.

This is an exciting time to join us, with major reforms underway to improve aged care. As a Senior Audit Officer, you will contribute to our role as the national regulator.

About the Team

The Audit function is responsible for monitoring and assessing providers' compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards.

We gather consumer feedback on care and services, using this information to inform audits. We manage identified risk through a Risk Assessment and Response Plan (RARP), referring issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Conducting review and analysis of provider documentation, preparing concise summaries for senior management to review.Preparing agendas, targeted questions for interviews with provider management, attending meetings, and documenting meeting minutes.Preparing and updating audit plans.Working collaboratively with team members to understand and respond to emerging requirements for information and providing guidance to team members conducting audits.Supporting senior management and auditors off-site with audit administration.Contributing to an effective team approach, including participating in audit team meetings and effectively communicating with team members.Leading and managing auditor staff, including developing, coaching, and mentoring staff, and building commitment to shared goals.Preparing for and assisting with virtual meetings, inputting related evidence into the audit tool.Supporting the Lead Auditor with care delivery location opening and closing meetings, documenting evidence in the digital audit tool.Preparing the preliminary report, coordinating auditors' contributions to the report.Reviewing the provider response to the preliminary report and preparing the final report for review by senior management.Collecting and documenting evidence on Commission's systems.Maintaining a high standard of confidentiality and privacy.

Position Details

The salary offered will be between $96,709 - $109,061 per annum, depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

Roles are offered on an Ongoing / Non-Ongoing basis, with non-ongoing roles offered for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of one extension up to an additional 12 months.
