About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our new aged care team.

This senior leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing programs that improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people accessing aged care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program implementation, policy development, and stakeholder engagement.

This role includes leading the Elder Care Support Program, representing us on national reference groups, and engaging with governments, health services, and community stakeholders to ensure culturally safe and effective aged care services.

The Director, Aged Care Programs is a key position within our organization, driving systems reform and innovation in the context of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

Requirements:

  • A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contemporary health barriers.
  • Proven leadership experience, including managing diverse teams and contractors.
  • Strong program and grant management skills, with a proven ability to deliver in complex environments.
  • A deep knowledge of aged care policy and programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, governments, and sector partners.
