EL1 Legal Policy Officer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a high-performing EL1 Legal Policy Officer to join our team and contribute to the development of legislation related to improving the quality of VET industry.

The successful candidate will have experience in regulatory policy, excellent interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to provide high-quality written advice quickly across complex legislation and policy.

This is a permanent transfer opportunity within the federal government department, offering flexibility to work from home or remotely and a central work location close to shops and public transport.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading and contributing to legislation amendments to ensure authorities have regulatory powers.
  • Developing policy advice for senior stakeholders, including briefings, presentations, and policy papers.
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders, including Regulatory Authorities, to oversee the regulation of the VET sector.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Background in regulatory policy or relevant qualifications in law highly regarded.
