Job Title: Regulatory Legal Advisor

Regulatory legal advisors provide expert advice and guidance on evidence gathering, investigation procedures, and statutory notices to support Comcare's regulatory activities.

  • Providing specialist legal advice on investigations and prosecutions;
  • Assisting in preparing briefs of evidence and supporting the Prosecutor General;
  • Contributing to policy development and improving processes for inspections.
Requirements
  • Mandatory qualifications: Admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory (3+ years post-admission experience desirable);
  • Current Practising Certificate or ability to obtain one within three months;
  • Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check), Employee Health Declaration, six-month probationary period for new engagements;
  • Ability to maintain Baseline Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Expertly advising on investigations and prosecutions;
  • Supporting prosecutors with complex cases;
  • Driving improvement initiatives and enhancing inspector capabilities.

The role involves collaborating closely with senior legal advisors and requires effective problem-solving, strategic thinking, and risk management skills.
