Senior Economic Policy Advisor

The Commission plays a crucial role in driving informed decision-making by providing research and advisory services on key economic, social and environmental issues affecting Australians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inquiries with public hearings to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Oversee research and preparation of reports to provide actionable insights
  • Making recommendations on major public policy issues to drive positive change
  • Representing the Commission's work in public forums to promote its findings and recommendations

Requirements:

  • High standing in profession and community to foster credibility and trust
  • Strong basis for appointment based on knowledge of good public policy design and process to drive effective outcomes
  • Qualifications and experience relevant to the Commission's functions to ensure technical expertise
  • Advantageous skills: microeconomic policy/reform; policy drivers of productivity and economic growth; legislative and/or regulatory frameworks; energy and other essential infrastructure; econometrics and economic modelling
