Operational Events Manager

We are seeking an Operational Events Manager to join our team responsible for overseeing and managing on-road operational events across the network. This role is essential for ensuring smooth operations, minimizing disruptions, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Operating 24/7, the Operational Events Manager will monitor vehicle movements, safety systems, and temperature-sensitive freight, while maintaining open lines of communication with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to on-road operational events and facilitate resolutions in line with business objectives.
  • Create and maintain detailed logs of all on-road events.
  • Triage equipment breakdowns and coordinate with technical experts to mitigate business impacts.
  • Manage responses to incidents and accidents, ensuring the safety of people, property, and equipment.
  • Monitor the road-network and ensure alignment with operational plans.
  • Issue timely communications regarding potential network impacts due to weather and traffic conditions.
  • Address instances of driver fatigue in accordance with company protocols.
  • Review in-vehicle telematics footage to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure temperature-sensitive freight maintains compliance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate after-hours site access at designated locations.
  • Conduct welfare checks and engage in regular safety conversations with drivers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address and remediate operational disruptions.
  • Process and prepare routine reports for stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear communication with relevant stakeholders throughout operational events.
  • Uphold data quality standards in accordance with business requirements.
