Job Title: Operations Base and Workshop Superintendent

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Base and Workshop Superintendent to join our team at Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd. As a key member of our marine operations team, you will be responsible for managing the workshop, marine fleet vehicles, mechanical plant, and the Whyte Island Operation Base site to support maintenance of marine fleet and provide a safe and compliant site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the workshop and ensure that all activities are planned and executed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of marine fleet vehicles, mechanical plant, and equipment.
  • Lead and manage overhauls of business-critical spare parts, components, and equipment to assist operational readiness of the marine fleet.
  • Ensure that all workshop activities are conducted in accordance with relevant safety protocols and regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve workshop efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of workshop activities with other business functions.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification in a relevant field (e.g. mechanical, electrical, or marine engineering).
  • Proven experience in managing a workshop or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety protocols and regulations.
