About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Workshop Supervisor to lead our workshop with a team of skilled professionals, including Boilermakers, Machine Operators, Welders, and Apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient and safe working practices.
- Hold weekly toolbox meetings to discuss safety, quality, and environmental matters.
- Ensure only qualified workers undertake specific tasks.
- Review drawings and allocate work to team members.
- Plan and coordinate jobs to meet production targets.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Leading Hand and QA officer.
- Train team members in welding applications and best practices.
- Dispatch jobs according to the Fabrication program.
- Organize weld testing and documentation for completed jobs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership role in structural steel fabrication.
- Formal trade qualifications, including Cert III and higher-level certificates (Cert IV and Welding Supervisor - AS2214).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- A high level of honesty and integrity.
