About the Role
The Victorian Government is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Governance Lead to join their team. This exciting opportunity will see you play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of cybersecurity risks across the organization.
As a Cybersecurity Governance Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust governance frameworks that support the achievement of the organization's strategic objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
You will lead a team of experts in establishing and maintaining comprehensive cybersecurity controls, procedures, and processes. Your expertise in audit and assurance will be crucial in evaluating the effectiveness of these controls and providing recommendations for improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. You will have a strong understanding of security frameworks and audit standards, including the Victorian Protective Data Security Standard and Commonwealth Protective Security Policy Framework.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will demonstrate a consultative approach, working collaboratively with teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives. Your experience in risk management and governance will be essential in driving organizational change and promoting a culture of security awareness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing robust cybersecurity governance frameworks
- Liaising with stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks
- Leading a team of experts in establishing and maintaining comprehensive cybersecurity controls
- Evaluating the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls and recommending improvements
- Providing guidance on security best practices and standards
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. The Victorian Government offers a range of benefits, including flexible working arrangements, professional development opportunities, and a dynamic work environment.
