Senior Policy Specialist

About the Role
The Senior Policy Specialist conducts reviews of children and young people in out-of-home care, strategic inquiries, research, and projects relating to community services efficiently and with a high degree of expertise. The role provides policy analysis and strategic advice to senior staff on emerging issues relating to community services and strategies to address them.
About You
- You will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as social work, social welfare, psychology, social sciences, or play therapy, and demonstrated extensive experience in community services, including child protection and Out of Home Care services.
- You will have knowledge of issues, policy, research, and best practice in Out of Home Care, with a proven high-level ability to think critically, analyze information, and develop recommendations.
- You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience producing high-quality, complex correspondence and reports while managing a high workload and competing priorities.
- You will have experience and skills in interacting with children and young people and will be able to explore and understand their experiences from a trauma-informed perspective.
