About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join our team in the Emergency Management Branch. As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in undertaking complex policy or project work to inform policy directions, conduct cross-government stakeholder management, facilitate service delivery reforms or major initiatives, and provide well-researched and sound options by identifying emerging issues on which the Department can rely for effective decision making or delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inform policy directions through research and analysis
  • Conduct cross-government stakeholder management to build strong relationships and engage senior decision-makers
  • Facilitate service delivery reforms or major initiatives to drive positive change
  • Provide well-researched and sound options by identifying emerging issues and developing solutions
Requirements
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent, relevant professional experience and training
  • Experience in developing and implementing service delivery reforms, strategic initiatives or interagency projects
  • Experience in leading and project managing complex, cross-agency policy projects
  • Solutions-focused, work well under pressure, and can proactively manage competing demands and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and engage senior decision-makers with confidence
  • Experience in undertaking multiple aspects of the policy process, such as data analysis, research, co-design, submission writing, commissioning and evaluation
