Job Opportunity

Our team is seeking a skilled Disability Support Worker to lead our Young Adult Social Group (YASG).

This role will be responsible for assisting adults on the autism spectrum to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with neurotypical peers.

You will coordinate and facilitate YASG activities, including developing a calendar of events, booking venues, advertising outings, and arranging for peer volunteers to attend each outing.

Support participants on the autism spectrum to engage in activities, with an emphasis on developing communication and social skills through community participation alongside neurotypical volunteers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and facilitating group activities
  • Developing a calendar of events
  • Booking venues and advertising outings
  • Arranging for peer volunteers to attend each outing

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, positive, and proactive when working with people on the autism spectrum.

Requirements include:

  • Excellent communicator and ability to quickly build rapport with stakeholders
  • Organised, with exceptional time management skills and enjoy working autonomously
  • Previous experience coordinating/working in disability support programs
  • Current First Aid certificate, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children's Check
  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence and insured vehicle (desirable)

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of disability support principles and practices, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
