Senior Claims Specialist – High Value and Complex Claims

 

  • Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Claims Specialist to join our team in managing high-value and complex claims.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide strategic advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end claims across class actions, cluster claims, and high-value exposures
  • Providing strategic advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution
  • Collaborating with internal legal teams, panel firms, and counsel to manage legal complexities
  • Attending mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings as required
  • Supporting technical oversight and mentoring within the Specialty claims team
  • Developing governance frameworks and reporting for emerging risks and financial impacts
  • Promoting alignment of claims strategies across internal stakeholders
  • Contributing to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives

 

  • Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (mandatory)
  • Industry qualifications such as Diploma in Financial Services (mandatory)
  • 5–10 years' experience managing complex liability or professional indemnity claims
  • Litigation experience, including briefing panel firms or direct involvement (mandatory)
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Experience mentoring and developing team members
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and claims systems
