We are seeking a seasoned Senior Claims Specialist to join our team in managing high-value and complex claims.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide strategic advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end claims across class actions, cluster claims, and high-value exposures
- Providing strategic advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution
- Collaborating with internal legal teams, panel firms, and counsel to manage legal complexities
- Attending mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings as required
- Supporting technical oversight and mentoring within the Specialty claims team
- Developing governance frameworks and reporting for emerging risks and financial impacts
- Promoting alignment of claims strategies across internal stakeholders
- Contributing to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives
- Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (mandatory)
- Industry qualifications such as Diploma in Financial Services (mandatory)
- 5–10 years' experience managing complex liability or professional indemnity claims
- Litigation experience, including briefing panel firms or direct involvement (mandatory)
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Experience mentoring and developing team members
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and claims systems
