Job Summary

We are seeking a Claims Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving claims and compensation related issues, as well as representing the agency on legal and compensation matters.


About the Role

This is a 3-6 month contract role with a focus on Injury Management & Return to Work, Legislative & Regulatory experience required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and resolve claims and compensation related issues through participation in grievance and dispute resolution.
  • Represent the Agency on legal and compensation matters within delegation of authority, including negotiation and representation at the SA Employment Tribunal and with claimants and their representatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolution of disputes.
  • Deliver prompt, efficient, cost-effective and equitable claims and compensation services, including consultancy, claim determinations, monitoring and approval of costs inclusive of treatment and income maintenance, negotiation and resolution of disputes, to DCP, meeting all legislative requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and maintain best practice and innovative approaches to claims and compensation, ensuring equity, diversity and individual needs of the injured worker are considered and reducing the impact of work-related injury to the individual and the organisation.
  • Review and prepare reports to identify opportunities for improvement with a focus on continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Contribute to the implementation of IM plans, programs and strategies that support the Agency's strategic priorities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of injury management legislation, regulations, standards, policies and practices, with familiarity across other state and national frameworks desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (employees, managers, medical professionals and insurers).
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills with a proactive mindset and excellent attention to detail.
