As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture within our organization. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with local communities, stakeholders, and government departments to drive positive change and progress towards Closing the Gap targets.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual who can lead and drive Council's progress in achieving its Closing the Gap targets. As our ideal candidate, you will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural awareness and knowledge, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Develop and implement policies and strategies that promote Aboriginal cultural awareness and inclusion
  • Build and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organizations, and government departments
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver projects and initiatives that address specific Closing the Gap targets
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A degree in Social Policy, Community Development, Social Sciences, or a relevant equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural awareness and knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
