Maintenance Fitter

We are seeking a qualified and experienced maintenance professional to join our team.

This is a diverse role responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and facilities to ensure the continual running of the plant.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on production machines.
  • Inspecting machinery and performing repairs on site, arranging replacement equipment as required.
  • Reporting and communicating any equipment malfunction and maintenance/repair, providing recommendations on the corrective action required.
  • Operating conventional metal lathes and milling machines.
  • Performing fabrication tasks including welding, cutting and grinding.
  • Providing mechanical support and technical knowledge to internal and external clients as required.
  • Maintaining the internal maintenance management system.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that production/maintenance documents are completed accurately and on time.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • A trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
  • Minimum 3 years' mechanical fitting experience, working on industrial manufacturing plant and machinery.
  • A current Forklift Licence (Dogging ticket and Overhead Crane competency preferred)
  • Welding experience coupled with advanced knowledge of fabrication practices.
  • Competent in the operation of milling and lathing machines.
  • Ability to interpret engineering and mechanical drawings.
  • Unlimited working rights in Australia.
