Senior Credit Risk Executive Job Description

The role of the Senior Credit Risk Executive involves serving as a subject matter expert and conduit between the business and credit risk teams to facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Review and sign off on project documents, including business cases, requirements, processes, design, testing, and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with credit risk management frameworks, approved business strategy, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide assistance in identifying relevant controls to meet APS 221 obligations and standards.
  • Attend project working group meetings and contribute required inputs.
  • Lead in developing trusted relationships with line and credit teams, as well as internal/external professional advisers, to achieve optimal outcomes for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Update the bank's large exposure framework to align with the Basel large exposures framework and associated systems, processes, and documentation.
  • Support business process and data point reviews, providing high-quality credit policy advice in specific areas of expertise to the program team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 10 years' experience in banking/financial services industry with a proven track record in credit decisioning and credit policy writing/development.
  • Knowledge of legal, compliance, and regulatory frameworks governing institutional and business lending.
  • Proven ability to deliver strategic and operational plans, achieving excellent outcomes.
  • Proven skills in organizing, project management, effective problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • People management, training, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to operate with an agile and adaptable mentality, contributing across multiple programs/projects.
