About the Role

This role is focused on delivering culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal patients in a fast-paced emergency department environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, responsive care.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and advocacy skills, with a passion for supporting Aboriginal patients and families. A Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and current authority to practice as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) are also essential qualifications for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal patients in the Emergency Department
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, advocating for their needs and preferences
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cultural safety practices and protocols
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice)
