About the Role

A global leader in manufacturing and gas handling solutions is seeking an Electrical Control and Instrumentation Project Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of tenders, design, drafting, and project management across customer sites nationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out assigned drafting and design work in compliance with technical standards and regulations, budget, schedule, scope, and client specifications.
  • Liaise and coordinate with other disciplines involved on the project (internal and external) to exchange related technical, budget, and schedule details.
  • Maintain quality levels throughout the work with particular reference to drawings and associated technical documentation.
  • Maintain project files up-to-date with relevant information.
  • Develop layout drawings, wiring schematics, instrument and equipment lists, and reports (cable schedule, I/O list, BOM, etc.).
  • Ensure EC&I system design takes into consideration all interfaces with other disciplines – mechanical, process, and civil.
  • Ensure that scope changes are identified, submitted to the client, and approved.
  • Develop commissioning plans, in line with client and project requirements.
  • Produce and review ITPs/Test sheets as required, perform and witness equipment testing as required for internal quality control, FAT, and SAT.
  • Liaise and cooperate with company management with regards to the current health and safety legislation and obligations within the location and area where you are performing your duties.
Requirements
  • Qualification in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, including those related to mines and Health Regulation.
  • Turnkey project experience.
  • Working knowledge of General AutoCAD.
  • Working experience with designing and drafting of LV/MV single-line diagrams and control system architecture.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems.
  • Solid experience in designing and drafting wiring diagrams of PLC-based control panels.
  • Solid understanding of MV and LV distribution, equipment selection, and interface with control and monitoring systems.
  • Good understanding of MV and LV VVVF drives and soft starters.
  • Experience on projects where transportable buildings were used as electrical rooms.
  • Ability to define the scope of electrical work/product.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Working experience with AutoCAD Electrical (smart features).
  • Working knowledge of Eplan software.
  • PLCs programming (Mostly used Allen Bradley/Schneider/Emerson), SCADA mimic development.
  • Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards related to underground mines, NSW Coal Mines Health and Safety (CMHS) Act, CMHS Regulations, and Queensland Coal Mining Safety.
  • Electrical design for Hazardous area, especially on Coal mines.
  • Experience with ventilation system equipment.
  • Working experience with Solidworks Electrical software.
  • Working experience with designing and drafting of Low Voltage Switchboards layouts and internal wiring.
  • Good understanding of industrial communication protocols and their interfacing with PLCs and equipment.
