Lease Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Lease Management Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Council facility leases from negotiation to compliance, overseeing day-to-day property matters, and providing clear advice to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tenure arrangements of Council facilities through negotiation and collaboration with tenants and/or licensees.
  • Prepare and manage tenure documents ensuring compliance with Council policy and legislative requirements.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Service Managers on tenancy compliance and tenure document management.
  • Contribute to the review of the property portfolio to enable responsible management of Council facilities.
  • Follow up outstanding lease issues, documentation, and assist internal stakeholders with complex liaison issues and attendance of meetings as required.
  • Operate within a customer-focused team, working with a strong customer and commercial focus.
About You:

To succeed in this role, you will require previous experience in a property and/or leasing environment, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and negotiate terms of tenure agreements. A Certificate or Diploma in property or administration will be highly regarded, along with strong skills in compliance, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration.

Essential Skills:
  • Excellent time management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work with a broad range of external stakeholders, including landlords, tenants, community groups, and legal representatives.
  • Strong knowledge and working experience in Crown Land legislation, Retail Leases legislation, and statutory compliance is desirable.
