About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Mandurah. As a key member of our Infrastructure Maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our city's roads and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake civil maintenance operations in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, adhering to agreed quality standards.
  • Support the road maintenance and road construction teams in safely and effectively directing traffic through and around designated work sites.
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment, including concrete cutters, foot stampers, plate compactors, road making plant, and general construction tools.
  • Conduct basic survey levelling and re-pegging, and possess knowledge and experience in kerbing, paving, and concrete laying.
  • Develop and implement effective traffic management plans to minimize disruptions to traffic flow.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless delivery of maintenance services.
Requirements
  • Cert III in Civil Construction or previous relevant experience in a civil maintenance environment.
  • Current unrestricted 'MR' (medium rigid) class driver's licence.
  • White Card – Work safe in the construction industry.
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Basic Worksite Traffic Management.
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Traffic Control.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
