About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Maintenance Worker to join our team at the City of Mandurah. As a key member of our Operations Centre, you will be responsible for undertaking civil maintenance operations in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, and to agreed quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake civil maintenance operations, including road maintenance and construction, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Support the road maintenance and construction teams in safely and effectively directing traffic through and around designated work sites.
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment, including concrete cutters, foot stampers, plate compactors, and road making plant.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Undertake basic survey levelling and re-pegging.
  • Perform kerbing, paving, and concrete laying tasks.
  • Repair and install concrete and paving surfaces.
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Cert III in Civil Construction or previous relevant experience in a civil maintenance environment.
  • Current unrestricted "MR" (medium rigid) class driver's licence.
  • White Card – Work safe in the construction industry.
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Basic Worksite Traffic Management.
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Traffic Control.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Customer service and decision-making skills.
  • Verbal and written literacy and numerical skills.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.
