About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Mandurah. As a key member of our Infrastructure Maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our city's roads, bridges, and other infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake civil maintenance operations in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, adhering to agreed quality standards.
  • Support the road maintenance and road construction teams in safely and effectively directing traffic through and around designated work sites.
  • Operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment, including concrete cutters, foot stampers, plate compactors, and road making plant.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Undertake basic survey levelling and re-pegging.
  • Perform kerbing, paving, and concrete laying tasks.
  • Conduct concrete repairs and installations.
  • Install and repair paving and kerbing.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • Cert III in Civil Construction or previous relevant experience in a civil maintenance environment.
  • Current unrestricted 'MR' (medium rigid) class driver's licence.
  • White Card – Work safe in the construction industry.
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Basic Worksite Traffic Management.
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Traffic Control.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Competence in the use of concrete cutters, foot stampers, plate compactors, road making plant, general construction tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to undertake basic survey levelling and re-pegging.
  • Knowledge and experience in kerbing, paving, and concrete laying.
  • Knowledge and experience in preparing concrete and paving surfaces.
  • Experience in concrete repairs and installations.
  • Experience in installing and repairing paving.
  • Experience in installing and repairing kerbing.
  • Safe operation and user maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Customer service and decision-making skills.
  • Verbal and written literacy and numerical skills.

  • A competitive salary range of $66,965 - $69,456, dependent on qualifications and experience.
  • A permanent full-time position with a 9-day fortnight.
