Job Title: Compliance and Enforcement Specialist

Are you passionate about promoting the rights of First Peoples in Victoria? Do you have experience in regulatory environments and a strong understanding of Aboriginal heritage laws?

About the Role
  • We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Enforcement Specialist to join our team in this unique opportunity.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting proactive and reactive inspections across Victoria, ensuring compliance with the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006.

This role requires close collaboration with Investigators, Authorised Officers, and Aboriginal Heritage Officers to gather and handle evidence. The successful candidate will need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and monitor compliance with the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006.
  • Work closely with other teams to gather and handle evidence.

This role involves travel across Victoria, including overnight stays, and requires a current driver's license. Only applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia may apply.

Requirements:
  • Experience in interpreting legislation and undertaking inspections.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, statements, and correspondence.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
