Job Title: Compliance and Enforcement Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to work in new and innovative ways that recognise First Peoples as the self-determining drivers of Aboriginal affairs in Victoria. The role will contribute to the ground-breaking work of the Group in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights.

As a Compliance and Enforcement Specialist, you will support the Team Leader - Enforcement and Compliance in providing strong leadership, advice and coordination in all areas relating to compliance and enforcement of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (the Act). You will also conduct proactive and reactive inspections throughout Victoria to deliver compliance and enforcement outputs which may range from stakeholder education to statutory outcomes such as penalty notices and directions.

About the Role:
- Conduct inspections and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006
- Prepare written documents, including reports, statements, and correspondence, that clearly convey relevant information
- Develop and maintain mutually beneficial working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve business objectives

Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in conducting inspections or monitoring activities with a reporting outcome, preferably in a regulatory environment
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
