Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Automation Manager to lead our Automation team and drive the smooth operation of our Robotic Process Automation (RPA) environment.

This critical role involves managing people, resources, and governance through:

  • Leading a small team of automation practitioners to deliver RPA solutions that drive business value and improve efficiency.
  • Overseeing best-practice design for automation and updating design standards as required to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Managing the technical environment, including liaison with departmental ICT on infrastructure, licensing, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensuring governance and procedures are in alignment with the Robotic Operating Model and revising as required to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Leading improvement initiatives and reporting on the value and benefits of RPA solutions developed to inform business decisions.
  • Partnering with business and data analysts to work with business areas across the department to develop fit-for-purpose automation solutions addressing business process challenges.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, mentoring, and providing technical support to automation developers through strong leadership and effective line management. They will also partner with colleagues across ICTD to contribute to divisional leadership group discussions and projects in the delivery of outcomes aligned with integrated business planning for the branch, division, and department.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of RPA technology and automation principles, as well as experience in leading teams and managing resources.
