About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in information management compliance in a local role prioritizing work-life balance and eliminating commuting. As an Information and Records Compliance Officer, you will provide expert advice and assistance ensuring legislative, evidentiary, and organizational recordkeeping requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and make recommendations on training, policies, standards, and procedures that drive records management best practice within Central Coast Council.
  • Plan, develop, and make recommendations for compliance documentation, including policy, procedures, risk assessment tools, and compliance frameworks to assist CCC meet the compliance obligations of the NSW State Records Act 1998.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of CCC's business systems, information repositories, and architecture in alignment with CCC's Information Management Framework, legislative requirements, and industry best practice.

Requirements:

  • A Graduate Diploma in Records Management and Archives or Diploma in Recordkeeping OR equivalent demonstrated knowledge and experience in records management systems, principles, and practices, including analysis, administration, and improvement of records and document management systems.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills, including high-level customer service skills to communicate effectively and build relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying the State Records Act 1998, including standards and Retention and Disposal Authorities, as well as any other relevant regulations, policies, and procedures within a Local Government environment.
  • Proven experience in an advisory capacity as a records management subject matter expert with proven ability to formulate recommendations and provide specialist advice to enable records and information management compliance and promote industry best practice.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities, strong attention to detail with proven ability to always maintain confidentiality using discretion.

  • The salary range for this position is between $85K and $98K plus 11.5% superannuation.
